Paul Harris Memorial Scholarship
The Fortuna Sunrise Rotary Club, founded on the Rotary Club’s 90th anniversary, honors Rotary founder Paul Harris with memorial scholarships in his name. Scholarships are awarded annually to two Fortuna High School seniors, who wish to further their education. At this time, each annual award is worth $1,500.

Gary Edgmon Memorial Scholarship

This award, which was started in the memory of Gary Edgmon is also awarded annually to a Fortuna High School senior who wishes to continue their education. This award is comprised of $500 from the Ferndale Rotary Foundation and a matching award form the Fortuna Sunrise Rotary. The Paul Harris application is used for this scholarship . The award is $1,000.

Hal Hummel Memorial Vocational Award
Newly named in May of 2015, the Club also honors one of its Charter members, Hal Hummel, who was a long-time club Vocational Scholarship chairman, and a tireless advocate for the importance and value of vocational service. Annually, the club awards a graduating senior at Fortuna High School who is planning to attend a trade or vocational school or institution. The award is currently $1,500.

Roger Rodoni Memorial Scholarship

This award, which was started in the memory of former County Supervisor and long-time local rancher, Roger Rodoni, is also awarded annually. This award is specifically for students who will be attending College of the Redwoods. This award places emphasis on community involvement and leadership. The award is $1,000.

Sunrise Rotary Presidential Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually. Candidates are chosen from the pool of applications for our other scholarships and are selected by our club president. The award is $1,500.
